Privacy Policy
EFFECTIVE 18 JULY 2026
MoHoNav is operated by Zynaptik, an independent studio based in the United Kingdom. This policy explains, in plain language, what information MoHoNav handles and why. The short version: MoHoNav collects the minimum needed to plan safe routes, shows you no ads, and sells nothing to anyone.
What MoHoNav stores
Your vehicle profiles — the name, height, width, length and weight you enter for each vehicle. These exist purely so routes can be planned around your rig's real dimensions.
Your saved places and planned trips — destinations you save or plan within the app.
Restriction reports — if you report a low bridge, weight limit or similar, the report and its location are stored so the information can improve routing for everyone.
MoHoNav currently has no user accounts, and does not ask for your name, email address or any other personal identifier to use the app. There are no advertising or analytics trackers in the app or on this website.
Location
If you grant location permission, your position is used to centre the map and act as a route starting point. When you plan a route, the start and end coordinates travel to our servers to calculate it. Your location is not tracked in the background and no history of your movements is kept beyond the places and trips you choose to save.
Where data lives and who helps process it
MoHoNav runs on standard European infrastructure: the database is hosted with MongoDB Atlas and the routing service with Render, both in Frankfurt, Germany; the app and this website are delivered by Cloudflare and Netlify.
To calculate vehicle-safe routes, the route coordinates and your vehicle's dimensions are sent to HERE, a European mapping provider, and in some cases to the community-run OSRM and Overpass (OpenStreetMap) services for basic routing and points of interest. These requests contain coordinates and dimensions only — never your identity. Map imagery is provided by OpenStreetMap.
Your choices and rights
You can delete vehicles, places and trips within the app at any time, and deleting them removes them from our database. Under UK and EU data protection law you have rights of access, correction and erasure; to exercise them, or to ask anything about this policy, email hello@mohonav.com. If you are unhappy with how a request is handled, you may complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
Children
MoHoNav is a driving tool and is not directed at children.
Changes
As MoHoNav grows — for example if paid accounts are introduced — this policy will be updated and the effective date above will change. Significant changes will be flagged in the app.
